Commodity Buyer - manufacturing environment - Represent the Company and the Department in challenging environments - Implementing and maintaining KPI’s - Forging and maintaining relationships - Source leads to develop and maintain a competitive supply base – Salary c£23k pa – Based in Hereford.

 We are looking for a Commodity Buyer (manufacturing) to work for a metals manufacturing company.
 
Candidates for the position of Commodity Buyer (manufacturing) should have proven experience as a buyer preferably in a manufacturing environment. 
 
The Commodity Buyer (manufacturing) will need to be able to forcefully represent the Company and the Department in challenging environments, using good communication skills and an innovative approach to gain results.
 
The Commodity Buyer (manufacturing) must be able to source leads to develop and maintain a competitive supply base. You must have experience in negotiating with suppliers to optimise cost, quality, and delivery.
 
Duties of the Commodity Buyer include:
 
  • Issuing quotations to potential suppliers
  • Forging and maintaining relationships with the major Engineering and MRO suppliers.
  • Ensuring all engineering & MRO items are sourced and purchased in accordance with company policies.
  • Implementing and maintaining KPI’s to measure Engineering Commodity and Supplier performance.
  • Working to improve Commodity performance to meet KPI’s set by the Materials, Purchase & Contracts Manager.
  • Working to ensure all necessary items are available as required either in Stores or as a Direct Order.
  • Ensuring orders are delivered on time and in full.
  • Working to minimise Purchase Price Variance
  • Ensuring Engineering services are available to meet the needs of internal customers
  • Reviewing and assessing Engineering Service Contracts.
 
 
The ideal candidate for the role of Commodity Buyer (manufacturing) should have high levels of proven leadership ability and be dynamically driven.
 
Candidates need also to be proficient in MS Office and MS Access.
 
Candidates for the Commodity Buyer (manufacturing) need to be results driven and ideally looking to progress within a company through achievement.
