Fabrication Engineer - Manufacturing Engineer with a Fabrication and Welding background - applications accepted from Platers /Fabricators who want to move into the office - based Bristol - salary £28K

We are ideally looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a Fabrication and Welding background /qualification but would also accept applications from Qualified Platers / Fabricators who want to move into an office environment

All candidates for the position of Fabrication Engineer (Welding) must have post apprenticeship shop floor experience or extensive (non apprenticeship) proven fabrication experience

It is essential that the Fabrication Engineer (Welding) is capable of working on his/her own initiative and has excellent IS skills

Good communication and numeracy skills are also essential and a good working knowledge of Geometry and Trigonometry would be an added advantage.

The day to day responsibilities of the role will include:
* Preparing processes detailing methods of fabrication and welding for medium to heavy high integrity components.
* Preparing material cutting lists and creating requisitions for the Buying Department.
* Taking responsibility for Jigs and fixture requirements, for handling and distortion control.
* Getting involved in the Design for Manufacture discussions /meetings.
* Interfacing with Production Shops, Suppliers and Customers.
The ability to compile basic Fabrication Estimates from detail drawings and/or 3D models would be an added advantage but not a prerequisite as training would be provided.
All candidates for the position of Fabrication Engineer (Welding) must be hardworking, trustworthy and reliable.
