Marine Design Engineer - design of marine & offshore structures & systems - MathCAD - Fluid Flow - AutoCAD - classification society rules and flag state regulations - based Rosyth - salary £30 - 42K

We are looking for a Marine Design Engineer with knowledge of classification society rules and flag state regulations to develop marine system P&IDs

Candidates for the position of Marine Design Engineer (classification society rules and flag state regulations) should have experience of proprietary systems analysis software such as MathCAD and Fluid Flow and a working knowledge of AutoCAD

Direct experience of the design of marine and offshore structures and systems is essential as is the ability to work from first principles and good communications skills

Professional qualifications are desirable but appropriate experience and practical skills are equally so

The day to day role of Marine Design Engineer (Marine & Offshore Systems) will include:

* Developing marine system P&IDs, machinery layouts, equipment and material specifications.
* Preparing the marine engineering sections of the tender specification to go out to shipyards.
* Pipework system design, material and equipment specifications for submission and approval by the client and classification society
* Liaison with the client and subcontractors on projects
* Specifying and requisitioning the main and auxiliary machinery
* Designing the associated systems fitted on naval and merchant ships.

To undertake the above, the Marine Design Engineer (Marine & Offshore Systems) must be a good team worker who is willing to travel on assignments away from the office

Candidates must go through security clearance process prior to employment
