Senior Mechanical Fitter - Mechanical Fitter or Tool Dresser's experience - oilfield downhole tools - supervisory experience - based Aberdeen - salary £25 - 35K

We are urgently looking for a Senior Mechanical Fitter who has had experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Tool Dresser and who is familiar with oilfield downhole tools to supervise a small team of junior fitters for a company involved with the exploration well testing and production/completion departments of the world's major oil & gas companies.

Candidates for the position of Senior Mechanical Fitter (Oilfield Downhole Tools/Tool Dresser) must have served an apprenticeship or equivalent; have some supervisory experience and be competent to use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the role of a mechanical fitter

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Mechanical Fitter in the oil industry, preferably downhole tools and must be competent to work on mechanical equipment and systems in the downhole sector of the oil industry.

You would also be required to read drawings, interpret work instructions and perform the work to time and quality as well as carrying out surveys and pre-fit examinations of equipment

The successful Senior Mechanical Fitter (Oilfield Downhole Tools/Tool Dresser) will work within a team of Mechanical Engineers and Fitters, dealing with all mechanical aspects of the company's equipment and systems.

Day to day duties will entail:

* Building and servicing new and existing tools and systems
* Generating and maintaining documentation to record the work.
* Building, repairing and maintaining downhole mechanical assemblies.
* Performing test build of new equipment and prototype testing.
* Advising on ordering of equipment for new tools and development work.
* Carrying out function and pressure testing.
* Participating in design reviews.
* Supporting internal customers on technical queries.
* Maintaining build files & related documentation.
* Supporting operations by working at client sites (onshore and offshore).
