Heavy Handling Operative x 10 - heavy lifting - driving dockside/mobile cranes - Slinging/Rigging or crane driving qualifications - OHT crane certificate - forklift/sideloader/telehandler - training available - based Rosyth - salary c£32K to include shift allowances

We are looking for Heavy Handling Operatives with, preferably, experience in heavy lifting and in driving dockside/mobile cranes

Slinging/Rigging or crane driving qualifications (SVQ 2) preferred and OHT crane certificates and forklift/sideloader/telehandler certificates desirable

The 10 Heavy Handling Operatives (Dockside/Mobile Cranes) will join a Heavy Handling team supporting Manufacture and Assembly and carrying out all heavy lift and transport activities

The role of Heavy Handling Operatives (Dockside/Mobile Cranes) will be a multi-skilled one and you would be expected to cover all aspects of Heavy Handling activities and operations of multi-axle transporters, complex lift & turning activities and general duties including slinging/forklift driving and general crane driving operations.

There may also be future opportunities for to be trained as Goliath Crane Drivers.

This role is based on a 6/7 day cover, 2 shift pattern and training will be provided where necessary

Day to day duties of the Heavy Handling Operatives (Dockside/Mobile Cranes) will include:

* Operating a 1000Te Goliath Crane (for those selected to be drivers)
* Operating 500Te transporters
* Positioning loads on transporters within CoG envelopes
* The safe storage of units/blocks
* Lifting & Turning of Blocks, Units & Equipment
* Daily routine maintenance checks on transporters
* Daily Basic maintenance and functionality checks of Goliath Crane.
* General Slinging & Transportation tasks
* Forklift/sideloader/telehandler driving
* Operating a OHT crane
* Driving a mobile crane
* Slinger/banksman duties for Goliath crane movements and block lifts
* Coordinating Goliath crane movements with adjacent cranes

To undertake this role, the Heavy Handling Operatives (Dockside/Mobile Cranes) must be able to understand & read drawings relating to lifting/turning and transport operations and take ownership of activities/processes within the Heavy Handling remit such as carrying out safety inspections & equipment surveys

You will also be required to undertake training

This position will be subject to a 6/7 day, 2 shift working arrangement that is working time directive compliant and is based on an average 39 hour week. An all inclusive salary of £32,562 applies to this position for the duration of the shift working.
