We are looking for an Engineering Team Leader (Waterfront Support Activities) who has completed a recognised apprenticeship or trade qualification to HNC Level or higher who has had line management/supervisory experience

Candidates for the position of Engineering Team Leader (Waterfront Support Activities) will need to have had experience within a demanding operational environment and strong safety culture with an ability to lead or support with a thorough understanding and experience of Safe Systems of Work.

An understanding of waterfront support activities including vessel overside service requirements and berthing evolutions would be desirable as would a recognised qualification or experience with either Pressure Systems, Low Voltage Systems, Confined Spaces, Hydraulic lifting equipment, HVAC, Engineering legislative and regulatory requirements

Candidates who are computer literate to European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) would be preferred

The Engineering Team Leader (Pressure Systems/Low Voltage Systems) will work in an organisation that forms an integral part of the Nuclear Operations Division at HMNB Clyde

The role will entail leading a newly recruited team of multi-disciplined technicians who will undertake operational and planned preventative maintenance tasks and the Engineering Team Leader (Pressure Systems/Low Voltage Systems) will coordinate and supervise electrical and mechanical shutdowns so that the engineering technicians, base maintenance teams and contractors can conduct essential planned preventative and defect repair activities on the Facility.

Day to day duties will include:-

* Line management responsibilities for a multi-disciplined engineering team.
* Ensuring that all work tasks and requests are delivered in accordance with approved procedures.
* Involvement in the development of operational plans and programmes
* Managing the team to meet stringent customer service, budget and quality standards
* Controlling, monitoring and policing safety activities across the Facility
* Helping to provide flexible working hour coverage
* Monitoring, controlling and reviewing maintenance documentation and operating procedures
* Helping to develop continuous improvement
* Observing safe working practices
* Organising maintenance, operational and training requirements.
* Working on own initiative, unsupervised and being part of a small, effective management team.

Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements.
