P6 Planner - Primavera P6/P3/P3e or SureTrak/MS Project - project planning in an engineering environment - rail industry experience ideal - based Preston - salary £40K

We are looking for a P6 Primavera Planner with experience of project planning within an engineering environment and in depth knowledge of project planning software applications Primavera P6/P3/P3e, or SureTrak/MS Project

Candidates for the position of P6 Planner (Primavera P6/P3/P3e/SureTrak/MS Project) will, ideally, have experience in the rail industry.

The role will involve assisting with the creation and updating of resource loaded project programmes and coordinating project management activities as directed by the Operations Manager and Planning and Logistics Manager

Day to day duties of the P6 Planner (Primavera P6/P3/P3e/SureTrak/MS Project) will include:

* Assisting with the creation of project programmes using Primavera planning software (or other as directed by Network Rail contracts) from developed track renewal plans
* Holding regular reviews with the Renewals Managers, Short Term Access Managers to monitor job deliverables against plan
* Assisting with the production of medium and long term resource plans
*Assisting with the implementation and development of Primavera and IFS products
* Providing Network Rail with updated programmes and information and supporting the creation of management reports
* Deputising for the Senior P6 Planner
* Producing plans that meet specified timescales and formats
* Promoting widespread use of adapted planning
* Assisting the Short Term Planning Manager to ensure that possession applications are processed/cancelled correctly

To undertake this role, the must, ideally, have experience in managing and motivating small teams and be able to interact with client teams professionally

Benefits include 7.5% pension scheme and 27 day holiday plus 4 floating days and 8 BP's.
