Principal Controls Engineer - hydraulic and electrical distribution for subsea systems - SCS equipment design & manufacture - systems testing - umbilical design - based Kent or Aberdeen - salary £60,000 - £100,000 plus profit share and other benefits
We are looking for an experienced controls engineer to maintain the project system equipment requirements for a successful consultancy in pipeline, riser and subsea engineering for the oil and gas industry
Candidates will need to have had experience in controls engineering, a Degree/Post Graduate qualification in a relevant technical or science discipline and experience of hydraulic and electrical distribution for subsea systems

Also required of the Principal Controls Engineer (Subsea) is experience of SCS equipment design & manufacture, systems testing and umbilical design

You will also need to have had experience of workover systems and operation, topsides control interface & design (process control), SCS installation, offshore testing & commissioning and know the relevant codes, standards, legislation and its offshore influences

Day to day duties will include:
• Producing specifications for subsea control systems and umbilicals.
• Reviewing supplier design output in compliance with company specifications and standards
• Providing package technical support and coordination
• Assessing supplier deviation requests and facilitation/close out of such requests.
• Getting involved in HAZID/ HAZOP activities
• Attending supplier progress meetings and associated key milestones
Specialisation in either Project Management; sales and customer relationship management; subsea engineering or the ability to present technical courses would be particularly welcome
All candidates will need to be able to write and speak English clearly and fluently and have a UK driving licence
