Design For Support Manager - submarines - nuclear - AR&M - ILS methodologies - Def Standards - based Derby - salary c£41 - 51K

We are looking for a NGNPP Design For Support Manager who is either degree qualified in an Engineering/Technical discipline OR have qualified in the Royal Navy as a Cat A1 or Cat A2 Nuclear Supervisor and have relevant professional qualifications as associated with service in the Royal Navy.

Candidates for the position of Design For Support Manager (Nuclear) must have an understanding of AR&M and ILS methodologies, including an awareness of the appropriate Def Standards

You will need to have had extensive experience in the 'In-Service' Support arena along with a sound knowledge of HM submarine operation, submarine systems operation, maintenance and support requirements and an understanding of MoD contracts and support related policies.

As Design For Support Manager (Nuclear/Submarines/ILS/ARM) you will be experienced in the planning, implementation and control of programmes and have relevant design support experience in a defence and/or services environment.

The ability to develop close working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders & interfaces and to get value for money through challenging the norm and introducing innovative solutions will be necessary

The NGNPP Design for Support Manager will be responsible for leading the NGNPP 'Through Life Support' elements of the Successor Support Solution and generating the Design for Support solution

You would be working for a Tier 1 Supplier in a major UK capital project to design, build and support in-service the UK's independent nuclear deterrent

Duties of the Design For Support Manager (Nuclear/Submarines/ILS/ARM) will include:

* Providing specialist support-related expertise and analysis capabilities to the evolving design of the Successor NGNPP Systems
* Ensuring that appropriate support requirements are identified and implemented to ensure the Successor Support Solution is designed to meet the Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD) and minimum through life cost requirements.

To undertake this vital role, the Design For Support Manager (Nuclear/Submarines/ILS/ARM) will need to be a proven leader within a high pressure environment and have developed management, motivational and presentation skills

Successful applicants will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements
